Trump says Israel agrees to 60-day Gaza ceasefire

U.S. President Donald Trump said Israel has agreed to a 60-day ceasefire in Gaza. In a statement posted on Truth Social, Trump said White House officials held a “lengthy and productive” meeting with Israeli leadership on the situation in the Gaza Strip.
“Israel has agreed to the necessary terms for a 60-day ceasefire, during which we will work with all parties to end the war,” Trump wrote.
He added that Qatar and Egypt will deliver the final proposal to the Palestinian group Hamas. Trump also warned Hamas leaders that rejecting the offer would “only make things worse.”
Earlier, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said he would travel to Washington next week to meet with Trump, Vice President J.D. Vance, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, and special envoy Stephen Witkoff.
