Drones strike Russia’s Rostov region and Moscow suburbs, a woman killed

Russian authorities reported overnight drone attacks on the Rostov region and the Sergiyevo-Posadsky district near Moscow, resulting in civilian damage and the death of one woman.
According to acting Rostov governor Yuri Slyusar, drones struck several areas, including the city of Azov, where vehicles and apartment buildings were damaged, and drone debris reportedly fell onto a local stadium. In the settlement of Dolotinka, a multi-story residential building was hit, causing the death of an elderly woman and the evacuation of 20 residents.
Oksana Erokhanova, head of the Sergiyevo-Posadsky district, said several explosions were heard around 5 a.m. in the Zvyozdochka neighborhood. A power substation was reportedly damaged during the incident.
Russia’s Defense Ministry said its air defense systems intercepted and destroyed 48 Ukrainian drones overnight, including 26 over Rostov, 12 over Kursk, 6 over Belgorod, 3 over Oryol, and 1 over Lipetsk regions.
Kyiv has not commented on the attack.
