Netanyahu’s spokesman quits amid reported tensions with PM’s wife

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s spokesman, Dr. Omer Dostri, has resigned from his post less than a year after taking office, amid reports of tensions with Netanyahu’s wife, Sara.
Israeli media, citing unnamed sources, reported that Dostri’s relationship with the prime minister’s wife had become strained. A source in the PM's office said Dostri also faced difficulties working with staff.
The Prime Minister’s Office denied the reports, saying Dostri’s departure was agreed jointly with Netanyahu and his chief of staff.
In recent years, Sara Netanyahu has faced allegations of influencing senior political appointments. In 2023, former finance and defense minister Avigdor Lieberman testified in court that she frequently took part in official staffing decisions during her husband’s terms in office.
