Russia strikes Kyiv with missiles and drones, fires erupt across city

Russian forces launched a missile and drone attack on Ukraine’s capital early on Wednesday, triggering fires in at least five districts of Kyiv, local authorities said.
Powerful explosions were heard across the city. No civilian casualties have been reported so far, according to Ukrainian officials.
Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko said emergency services responded to multiple calls in the Shevchenkivskyi and Solomianskyi districts. Preliminary information indicated that drone debris hit a residential building in Shevchenkivskyi, while another residential building, a gas station, and garages caught fire in Darnytskyi.
Timur Tkachenko, head of Kyiv’s military administration, said debris fell on a non-residential building in Solomianskyi and ignited the roof of another.
