Francine Villa, an African American woman who moved to Russia to escape racism and police violence in the United States, was assaulted in Moscow, allegedly by her neighbor.
Villa said the neighbor had repeatedly harassed her because of her race before physically attacking her. She claimed she had contacted police multiple times, but no action was taken. She is currently in hospital.
