Iran closes schools, government offices due to heat and water shortages

Iranian authorities have ordered the closure of schools, universities and government offices in several provinces amid extreme heat, electricity outages and a worsening water crisis, local media reported.
The Energy Ministry recommended a full shutdown of public institutions in Tehran, Ardabil, Golestan, Kerman, Hormozgan, Isfahan, Gilan, Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari, as well as East and West Azerbaijan.
In the provinces of Semnan, Qom, Ilam and Hamadan, working hours will be reduced.
