US raises reward for Maduro’s arrest to $50 million

The US Justice Department has increased the reward for information leading to the arrest of Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro to $50 million, Attorney General Pam Bondi said on Thursday.

In a post on X, Bondi accused Maduro of using international terrorist organizations to traffic narcotics into the United States, calling him “one of the world’s largest drug traffickers” and a threat to US national security.

The reward was raised from the $15 million first offered in March 2020 during Donald Trump’s first presidential term, when US prosecutors charged Maduro and several Venezuelan officials with narco-terrorism.
