Apple’s new iPhone 17 Pro has outscored the MacBook Air M2 in a key performance test, breaking long-held perceptions about the power of smartphones compared to laptops, a tech user noted on social media platform X.

According to Geekbench benchmark data, the MacBook Air M2 averages about 42,000 points in the Metal GPU test. The iPhone 17 Pro, powered by the new Apple A19 Pro chip, reached 45,000 points.

The results show that Apple’s latest smartphone now exceeds its lightweight laptop in graphics performance, underscoring the rising power of mobile devices.
