Rubio says Trump may sell offensive weapons to Ukraine

U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio said President Donald Trump retains the option to sell not only defensive but also offensive weapons to Ukraine to help it defend itself against attacks.
Rubio told a UN Security Council meeting on Ukraine that Trump also reserves the right to impose additional sanctions on Russia if needed to end the war. “The president is a very patient man. He is deeply committed to peace, but his patience is not unlimited,” Rubio said.
He added that Trump had shown “remarkable patience” by holding off on fresh sanctions in hopes of a breakthrough, but warned that events now pointed to a risk of greater escalation.
Rubio stressed that Washington sees diplomacy as the only way forward. “We have held meetings in Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Alaska, countless phone calls, doing everything possible to resolve this conflict. It cannot end militarily — it will end at the negotiating table,” he said.
