Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky warned on Thursday that Ukraine could strike the Kremlin if Russia does not halt its war, and said U.S. President Donald Trump had pledged to “think about” supplying weapons to force Moscow to the negotiating table.

In an interview with Axios, Zelensky said Trump told him during a private meeting on Tuesday: “We will work on this.” He added that Kremlin officials “should make sure they know where the nearest bomb shelter is” if Moscow continues the war.

Zelensky also said Trump backed Ukraine’s retaliatory strikes on Russian energy facilities and defense plants. “If they attack our energy, President Trump supports that we can strike back at Russia’s energy,” he said.
