Trump signs order approving $14 billion TikTok deal

U.S. President Donald Trump signed an order approving the TikTok deal, placing the short-video platform under the control of American corporations and allowing it to continue operating in the country.
The company was valued at $14 billion under the agreement.
U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance said TikTok would no longer be used as a “propaganda tool” against Americans. He added that the main goal of the deal was to protect U.S. citizens’ personal data.
“We wanted to make sure we protect Americans’ data privacy as required by law. We believe we have achieved that. Of course, the work will continue, but Americans can now use TikTok with more confidence than before,” Vance said.
