NATO Secretary-General Mark Rutte said alliance members should be ready to shoot down Russian aircraft “if necessary,” in an interview with Fox News.

“If it is necessary. That is why I fully agree with President Trump: if it is necessary,” Rutte said.

He added that NATO forces were trained to assess such threats and determine whether to escort Russian planes away from allied territory or take stronger action if required.
