Tesla unveils record-low priced electric cars

Tesla has launched its most affordable electric vehicles to date — the Model 3 Standard liftback and the Model Y Standard crossover, The Verge reported.
The base prices are set at $38,600 for the Model 3 and $41,600 for the Model Y. Both cars can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.8 seconds and have a range of about 840 km. A 15-minute fast charge adds roughly 240 km of range.
To reduce costs, Tesla removed several features, including the panoramic roof, light beams, rear-seat display, door-area illumination, and electric mirror adjustment — now operated manually.
The Verge noted that Elon Musk had earlier promised to release an EV priced around $25,000, but the project was delayed by other initiatives, such as developing a self-driving taxi.
