Zelensky: Russia lying to Trump about Ukraine “successes”

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky accused Russia of “blatantly lying” to U.S. President Donald Trump about its supposed gains in eastern Ukraine.
“I think our meeting plus the real facts give him a broader understanding that the Russians are ‘selling’ him something they can’t actually achieve. They are openly lying,” Zelensky said.
He added that in reality Russia cannot quickly capture eastern Ukraine, but Moscow “needs to show something,” which may explain the heavy shelling of certain regions.
