China launches experimental communications satellite

China’s Long March-5 heavy-lift rocket on Thursday launched the No. 20 experimental communications satellite into orbit, People’s Daily reported.

The rocket lifted off from the Wenchang Space Launch Center on Hainan Island, and the satellite successfully entered its designated orbit.

The test spacecraft is designed to demonstrate multi-band, high-speed satellite communication technologies.
