US senator says “crushing” Russia sanctions moving forward with Trump’s backing
The U.S. Congress has begun advancing a new bill imposing additional sanctions on Russia after receiving President Donald Trump’s approval, Senator Lindsey Graham said on Monday.
He said the legislation would authorize the White House to impose secondary sanctions and tariffs on countries that continue buying discounted Russian oil and gas.
Graham’s draft includes both primary and secondary sanctions, as well as a 500% tariff on countries importing Russian oil, gas, uranium and other goods.
