Maduro says he is ready for dialogue with the U.S. administration
Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro has confirmed he is ready for dialogue with the U.S. administration, as tensions between the two countries continue to rise. He made the remarks during the “Con Maduro” programme on state broadcaster Venezolana de Televisión, when asked about possible talks with U.S. President Donald Trump.
Maduro said diplomacy and dialogue are the only paths to resolving issues of mutual interest. He recalled that Caracas’ position had already been outlined in a letter delivered to Trump on 6 September 2025, affirming Venezuela’s commitment to international law and rejecting threats of the use of force.
“Anyone who wants to talk to Venezuela does so face to face,” Maduro said.
He added that “there is no alternative to peace,” declaring: “Yes to dialogue and peace, no to war” — a phrase he also repeated in English.
