Paris wax museum unveils Princess Diana figure in ‘revenge dress’
Paris’s Grevin wax museum has unveiled a new figure of Princess Diana dressed in her iconic “revenge dress”, AFP reported.
The museum, similar to London’s Madame Tussauds, already features figures of King Charles III and the late Queen Elizabeth II. Diana’s figure had long been missing from the collection despite her tragic connection to Paris, where she died in a car crash in 1997.
The wax figure wears a replica of the black dress by designer Christina Stambolian, which Diana famously chose for a 1994 event on the day Charles publicly admitted to infidelity.
“More than 28 years after her tragic death in Paris, Diana remains a global pop-culture icon, admired for her style, humanity and independence,” the museum said.
The statue will be displayed alongside figures of fashion designers Jean-Paul Gaultier and Chantal Thomass, as well as Marie Antoinette.
