Tokayev awards Pashinyan “Altyn Qyran” order as Kazakhstan and Armenia move to strategic partnership

Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev met Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan in Astana and presented him with Kazakhstan’s highest state honour, the Altyn Qyran order.

Tokayev said the two countries would sign a historic agreement elevating bilateral ties to a strategic partnership.

Following the talks, Kazakhstan and Armenia signed 16 documents, including an economic cooperation roadmap for 2026–2030, a deal establishing a bilateral business council, and memoranda on peaceful nuclear energy, science and higher education.
