Zelenskiy: I will discuss sensitive issues with Trump
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy said the U.S.-proposed peace plan contains “many correct elements” but still requires work before a final version can be agreed.
“Our delegation has returned from Geneva, and the list of steps to end the war may now become workable,” he said in a late-Monday address.
Zelenskiy noted that the current draft of the U.S. plan is no longer the original 28-point version and includes key provisions important for Ukraine. He added that he plans to discuss “sensitive issues” directly with U.S. President Donald Trump.
“Ukraine will never be an obstacle to peace — this is our principle. We will do everything needed for a just peace,” he said.
Zelenskiy warned that Russia is trying to undermine the process through disinformation and attempts to weaken Ukraine’s negotiating position. “Our priorities remain unchanged: Ukraine’s interests and the protection of our people,” he added.
