Russia’s state space corporation Roscosmos has reported damage to several components of the launch pad at the Baikonur Cosmodrome following the launch of a Soyuz-2.1a rocket.

The corporation said all defects will be repaired shortly, as the required spare parts are available. “Minor damage after launches is possible, which is why inspections are mandatory in global practice. An assessment of the launch complex is currently underway,” Roscosmos noted.

The agency added that all available reserve elements will be used for restoration and that repairs will be carried out promptly.
