Snowstorm in the U.S. cancels hundreds of flights, delays thousands
A powerful snowstorm in the United States has caused major disruption to air travel, with more than 600 flights cancelled nationwide on Sunday, according to data from FlightAware. Over 7,000 additional flights were delayed.
CBS reported that the worst disruptions were recorded at airports in Chicago, New York, Boston, Des Moines, Minneapolis and Detroit, where severe weather and technical issues significantly affected operations.
Some delays were also linked to required software updates on several Airbus aircraft following a manufacturer advisory.
