Russia fires Iskander missiles at Kryvyi Rih, injuring dozens

Russian forces struck the Ukrainian city of Kryvyi Rih with Iskander ballistic missiles, wounding at least 17 people, according to preliminary data from local authorities.

The head of Kryvyi Rih’s defence council, Oleksandr Vilkul, said on Telegram that two Iskander missiles were launched at the city late on January 8, hitting multi-storey residential buildings.

One apartment block was destroyed, while 29 residential buildings were damaged, along with commercial properties and parked vehicles. Emergency services are providing assistance to the injured.

Meanwhile, Yevhenii Sytnychenko, head of the Kryvyi Rih district military administration, said five people were injured in the strike, including a child. One man was hospitalised in serious condition.
