Russia says Solovyov comments do not reflect official stance
Russia’s foreign ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said controversial remarks by Russian television host Vladimir Solovyov about Armenia and Central Asian states reflected his personal views and did not represent Moscow’s official position.
Speaking at a briefing on Jan. 15, Zakharova said the comments were made on the privately owned Solovyov LIVE channel and that some observers had taken them out of context.
She added that the remarks were framed as a question rather than a statement and that portraying them as Russia’s official policy was misleading.
