Former Iran foreign minister Kharrazi dies of wounds after airstrike — state TV
Former Iranian foreign minister Kamal Kharrazi has died from wounds sustained in an airstrike last week, Iranian state television reported.
Kharrazi served as foreign minister under reformist president Mohammad Khatami and later acted as a foreign policy adviser to Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei.
In 2022, he told Al Jazeera that Tehran had the technical capability to produce a nuclear bomb but had not made a decision to do so, raising concerns about Iran’s nuclear intentions.
