Resident finds Emmy statuette in rubbish heap

A man in Brooklyn believes he has found an Emmy Award from the 50s in a rubbish heap near his home.Ismael Cekic discovered the trophy in a box among some other rubbish and took it home.However it was only when he caught the awards ceremony on TV that he realised what it was he’d found.Cekic told CBS news: ‘This thing sticking out and looked so cool – I dusted it off and I took it home.’The statuette is missing the name of the recipient on its base, but Mr Cekic has said he is determined to find its owner.‘I would want this back in my family if I would have lost it,’ he explained. ‘I’m thinking why would someone throw this out?’CBS reports that he had asked around the other houses in his street, but no one knows where the award – believed to be from the 1950s – could have come from.(metro.co.uk)ANN.Az
