The world's biggest Scalextric track designed by Formula One ace Martin Brundle and featuring 150ft of the sport's most famous turns has gone up for sale.

The 'Ultimate 2015 Track' is made up of 177 pieces and features more than 40 corners, chicanes, and sections from the 2015 Formula One calendar, recognisable to motorsport fans around the world.

Experts have struggled to come up with an estimate value for the circuit, which features miniature sized landmarks including the Monaco swimming pool, the Singapore Flyer and the Silverstone wing, due its uniqueness.

It also features the Ascari chicane from the Italian GP, Casino Square from Monaco, the Wall of Champions from Canada, Silverstone's Copse and the Marina Complex from Abu Dhabi.

Originally made for Sky's F1 coverage by the British racing driver, it is the largest slot car track ever assembled by Scalextric's owner, Hornby Hobbies.

Brundle said: 'The team challenged me to design my dream circuit using sections from the 19 F1 races in 2015.

'I immediately wanted a figure of eight like our beloved Suzuka, and could only dream of driving a series of corners such as scaling the mountain up to turn one in Austin before falling through the Senna S of Brazil and towards Silverstone's fearsome Copse corner. And that's just a small section.'

The track will be auctioned off for Children in Need at Laverstoke Park in Hampshire at the CarFest event where visitors can race it over the weekend of August 29 and 30.

Guy Lees-Milne, general manager, Classic Car Auctions, added: 'We'd like to thank Hornby once again for allowing us to auction this amazing circuit in our sale at CarFest.

'We're sure there will be plenty of interest and hope to generate a fantastic sum for charity.'
