Zelenskyy won't support bill on conscription of women

Yuriy Kamelchuk, a deputy of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine from the ruling Servant of the People Party, said that President Volodymyr Zelenskyy's team will not support the conscription of women in the new bill on military mobilization in the parliament.

Kamelchuk told that Ukraine's bill on mobilization is currently being prepared by a special working group: "It still needs to be discussed at the headquarters. Yes, there are many points that lead to discussion, but the first thing to remember is that the mobilization of women will not be supported at all regardless of whoever proposes it."

Regarding the lowering of the draft age, he said that this is a matter related to the arguments of the General Staff, and if it is sufficient, the President will support this initiative: "We will consider it with the Verkhovna Rada. These issues are also discussed by the authorized representative of the local mobilization center and social support center."

"The most important reason for Ukraine's victory in the war with Russia is not about the bill on mobilization but about the real conditions that will be given to military personnel in terms of leave and financial support. This is related to organizational work, but the most important thing is financial support. These are weapons and ammunition from our Western partners. If all this happens on time, if the military is prepared, if some units are given rest, then there will definitely be strength and inspiration to defeat Moscow and win the war," the MP stressed.
