Russia hands protest note to Azerbaijani ambassador, demands release of detained journalists

Russia’s Foreign Ministry has delivered a verbal note to Azerbaijani Ambassador Rahman Mustafayev in Moscow, demanding the immediate release of Russian journalists, the ministry said in a statement.
The ministry stressed that Baku’s attempts to accuse Russian law enforcement agencies of abuse of power are viewed as interference in Russia’s internal affairs.
The ambassador was also presented with an official protest over what the ministry described as unfriendly actions by Baku and deliberate steps to dismantle bilateral relations with Moscow.
