Azerbaijan central bank governor appoints new adviser
The Governor of the Central Bank of Azerbaijan, Taleh Kazimov, has appointed Namig Naghdaliev as a new adviser, the bank said in a statement.
Born in 1982 in Baku, Naghdaliev holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in accounting and auditing from the Azerbaijan Cooperative University and earned a PhD in economics in 2012. He has also completed research and executive education programs at Columbia, Johns Hopkins, and Harvard universities.
Naghdaliev began his career in 2001 at Atlantbank and joined the Central Bank in 2008, serving in various roles including head of monetary and exchange rate policy. He previously worked as adviser to the Executive Director of the World Bank between 2018–2020 and 2022–2025.
With this appointment, the number of advisers to the central bank governor has increased to six.
