Sweden relocates embassy in Iran from Tehran to Azerbaijan

Sweden has temporarily relocated its embassy in Iran to Baku, Swedish Foreign Minister Maria Malmer Stenergard said on her social media account.

According to her, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs decided to relocate the embassy staff from Tehran amid the deteriorating security situation in Iran.
It was noted that the embassy continues its activities in Baku.

The minister also recalled that the Swedish Ministry of Foreign Affairs has advised its citizens not to travel to Iran since 2022 and called on Swedish citizens to leave Iran.
