Azerbaijan sets new crop yield targets for 22 districts
Azerbaijan has set new agricultural productivity targets for 22 specialised grain-producing districts, aiming to raise average food wheat yields to 5 tonnes per hectare by 2030.
The targets are part of a broader strategy to expand grain production and strengthen the country’s food security.
The programme предусматривает wider use of modern irrigation systems, improved land management, high-yield seed varieties and expanded agricultural support services.
Officials expect higher productivity to boost domestic grain output and improve the country’s level of self-sufficiency in wheat production.
The initiative forms part of Azerbaijan’s longer-term efforts to modernise agriculture and increase the efficiency of the sector.
