Bannon says Trump will seek a third presidential term in 2028
Former White House adviser Steve Bannon said in an interview with The Economist that Donald Trump would “get a third term” and become U.S. president again in 2028.
“He will get a third term. Trump will be president in 2028. People just need to accept it,” Bannon said.
He commented on the 22nd Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, which limits presidents to two terms, saying there were “many different alternatives” and that his team had a plan. “We will unveil it in due time. We had fewer chances in 2016 than in 2024 or 2028,” Bannon said.
Bannon argued that if Americans voted to return Trump to office, it would reflect “the will of the people” rather than a violation of the Constitution. “The only way President Trump can win and stay in office in 2028 is through the will of the American people,” he said.
