Trump agrees with Ukraine’s vision of peace – Zelensky
U.S. President Donald Trump agrees that for Ukraine the only acceptable compromise is a ceasefire along the current front line, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said in an interview with TSN.
“Trump has indeed agreed that the Ukrainian compromise is a ceasefire along the front line,” Zelensky said when asked whether Trump now understands that territorial concessions are unacceptable for Kyiv.
He said Trump’s sanctions against Russia were driven not only by efforts to end the war but also by Kremlin actions — including a strike on a kindergarten in Kharkiv and what Zelensky described as Russia’s “failure at the front” and “destructive rhetoric.”
“The U.S. sanctions strike looks even more catastrophic after Europe’s 19th package,” Zelensky added, noting that Trump still appears to be leaving Russian President Vladimir Putin “a negotiating window” to agree to peace talks.
