Trump still weighing whether to supply Tomahawk missiles to Ukraine – U.S. envoy to NATO
The administration of U.S. President Donald Trump is considering whether to supply Ukraine with Tomahawk cruise missiles or explore alternative ways to provide Kyiv with long-range weapons, U.S. Ambassador to NATO Matthew Whitaker said on Bloomberg TV.
“President Trump will continue to assess whether Tomahawks are necessary or if there are other opportunities for other countries to provide long-range strike capabilities,” Whitaker said.
He did not specify which alternative options were under consideration or which nations might be involved.
Tomahawk systems, used by the U.S. military, have a range of more than 1,500 kilometers and can hit targets with high precision. Kyiv has repeatedly asked Washington to provide such weapons, while several NATO countries have recently explored supplying long-range systems comparable to the Tomahawk, including modified cruise and surface-to-surface missiles.
