Unjustified payments worth 8 mln manat identified in Azerbaijan social ministry audit

 Audits conducted within Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of Population and its subordinate institutions identified 8 million manat in unjustified payments, according to the government’s 2025 annual report.

The report said measures are being taken in line with legislation to recover the identified funds, based on results of internal control, audits, inventory checks and official investigations.

As part of disciplinary actions in 2025, 56 employees received written warnings, 81 were given verbal warnings, 8 were reprimanded, and 1 employee was demoted.

Separate investigations into the restoration of citizens’ violated rights resulted in additional disciplinary measures, including 16 written warnings, 32 verbal warnings, 35 reprimands, 3 severe reprimands, 1 demotion, and termination of employment contracts for 8 employees.

Materials related to 22 cases identified during internal investigations were submitted to the Prosecutor General’s Office for legal assessment, the report said.
