BP axes low-carbon mobility team, main EV unit BP Pulse not affected

BP is shutting its team looking into hydrogen and liquefied natural gas for transport, especially trucks, a BP spokesperson said on Thursday, a move which does not affect its electric vehicle charging business BP Pulse.
BP presented a strategy to refocus on oil and gas, slash spending on renewables, reduce its annual investment in EV charging, and concentrate its EV growth in Britain, Germany, the U.S., China, India, and the Iberian Peninsula.
BP Pulse received a new head last month after its previous chief left the company.
The low-carbon mobility team to be axed includes fewer than ten people, and its activities will be integrated elsewhere in the group, a BP spokesperson said.
The Financial Times first reported the move.
