Yerevan awaits Moscow’s decision on railway restoration — Pashinyan
Armenia is awaiting Russia’s decision on restoration works on railway sections leading to the borders with Azerbaijan and Turkey, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said on Wednesday.
Pashinyan said the issue had been discussed with Russian President Vladimir Putin, as well as at the deputy prime minister level.
“We are now waiting for a response from our Russian partners,” Pashinyan told a briefing in Yerevan, commenting on the timeline for the railway’s restoration.
He added that following the signing of a framework agreement between Armenia and the United States on the implementation of the Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity (TRIPP) project, the work should be carried out in the near future.
“The appropriate timeframe is now, and our wish is for this to be done as quickly as possible. The processes are already underway, and we will keep you informed,” he said.
