"Azerbaijan has its own development model,” Aliyev told a televised cabinet meeting on Jan. 10. "It includes models of economic and political reforms.

"The economic model is a rare model of economic development. As to the model of political reforms, I think Azerbaijan can be an example (for other countries) to follow.”

"While carrying out economic reforms, we also attach great important to political reforms. All democratic institutions have been created in the country.

"We have provided all freedoms – freedom of speech, freedom of assembly, freedom of conscience, freedom of the internet and religion.

"Azerbaijan has not only provided these freedoms, they have become a way of our life. This is a state policy.”

Aliyev also said "no one can speak with us in the language of ultimatums”.
