Four more generals responsible for major departments at Azerbaijan’s Ministry of National Security Ministry have been fired, Trend news agency reported, citing an unnamed source.
The generals include Subahir Qurbanov, head of the Main Department for Fighting against Trans-National Crime, and Parviz Safarov, head of the Main Investigation Department. The two other generals were identified as Tarverdi Mammadov and Parviz Valiyev.
President Ilham Aliyev removed his National Security Minister Eldar Mahmudov last week.
The Prosecutor-General’s Office said it arrested seven ministry officers on charges of abuse of office.
