Azerbaijan exports less crude oil, more natural gas in 1H y/y

Azerbaijan exported 16.6 million tons (about 685,000 barrels a day) of crude oil in the first half of 2015, down from 17 million tons a year earlier, the State Customs Committee said.

The country increased natural gas exports to 4.55 billion cubic meters during the period from 4.26 billion cubic meters, according to data published on the committee website.

The Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) main oil pipeline operated by BP reduced shipments to 13.4 million tons from 14 million tons. BTC also exported 1.1 million tons of condensate.

Azerbaijan also uses two other pipelines (Baku-Supsa and Baku-Novorossiysk) and rail to export crude oil.

Oil deliveries via Baku-Supsa increased to 2,197,294 tons from 2,075,516 tons.

Baku-Novorossiysk exported 594,071 tons of Azerbaijani oil during the first six months, up from 508,997 tons in the same period last year.

The country delivered 417,543 tons of oil, down from 445,027 tons.
