Azerbaijan didn’t respond to a request by the Georgian prosecutor's office to arrest and extradite former President Mikheil Saakashvili, who was in Baku this week for a conference.
Natia Sukhiashvili, deputy head of the media relations department of the Georgin prosecutor’s office, said Azerbaijan has yet to respond to the request.
Baku posted a "global humanitarian forum” on April 28-29 that brought together current and former heads of state and governments and scholars from over 60 countries.
Saakashvili, who is wanted in Georgia for embezzlement and abuse of power, delivered a speech at the forum, praising Azerbaijan economic achievements. He also met President Ilham Aliyev.
