26.11.2013 18:37

Azerbaijan is not going to sign an association agreement with the European Union, said Novruz Mammadov, deputy head of the Presidential Administration.

"We have already notified the EU that we cannot accept the proposed association agreement," Mammadov said on ANS television. "We want to prepare a document that would more adequately meet the level of our relations and cooperation with the European Union."

Mammadov said Baku proposed the EU "to sign a partnership agreement taking into account the achieved level of cooperation".

"This agreement should reflect the level of bilateral cooperation and provide mutual respect and equality of the parties," he said.
