News.Az reports that the fund was created to ensure the development of the armed forces of Azerbaijan in line with modern requirements, strengthening of their material supply and financing of essential social events.

The financial source of the fund are the voluntary donations of individuals and legal entities, as well as other contributions that are not prohibited by the law.

Over the past 13 years the fund accumulated AZN 65,077,066, $211,791 and EUR593 (as of July 1, 2015).
