Azerbaijan’s oil, gas production up in 2013

Azerbaijan pumped more oil and natural gas last year, according to the State Statistics Committee.

Oil output grew to 43.1 million tons from 43 million tons in 2012 while marketable gas production increased to 17.9 billion cubic meters from 17.2 billion cubic meters, the committee said on its website.

Industrial production expanded by 1.8 percent, it said.

Gross domestic product increased by 5.8 percent. 

Azerbaijan’s oil production peaked in 2010 when the country pumped 51 million tons of crude. Output declined in the following two years.
