Azeri pressure group raps Armenian delegation's Baku visit

The Karabakh Liberation Organization in Baku criticized an Armenian delegation's participation in an international sports event in Azerbaijan.

A delegation from the Armenian National Committee visited Baku to attend the 43rd General Assembly of the European Olympic Committees.

In a statement published on Yeni Musavat on 22 November, the organization slammed Armenia for refusing to withdraw its troops from Azerbaijan's internationally-recognized territory, for "holding captive over 4,000 Azerbaijanis" and for recently taking into custody two Azerbaijanis - Sahbaz Quliyev and Dilqam Asgarov - in Azerbaijan's Armenian-held Kalbacar District.

It described the Armenian delegation's visit to Baku as the Azerbaijani authorities' "indecisiveness" and the international organizatons' "pro-Armenian stance", Yeni Musavat said.

"Such loyal attitude towards Armenia is unacceptable. This terrorist state must be isolated from all international organizations, projects and events. We demand that the Armenian delegation leave [Azerbaijan]. We will use all means today so that the enemy country's delegation leaves Baku. This is not a matter of sports. This is an attempt to humiliate Azerbaijan in front of Armenia and to force us to surrender," the organization's statement reads.
