There are reports that "Azərsun Holding", one of the largest companies in food industry of Azerbaijan has increased prices for a number of products. Price rise is ranged between 5 and 20 gapik. Afiq Safarov, director of Public Relations and Business Development Support Department of Azersun Holding have told qaynarinfo.az that the company did not make decision on increasing the prices. Afiq Safarov said that the price of company's products is regulated by USD rate to purchase raw materials:
"According to the rate of USD, price of some of our products has been reduced.The rate of USD has increased from 1.48 AZN to 1.64 AZN. Basically it appreciated for 20-25 %. However price of our products did not rise.The situation in sales points is a bit different. The price can be different in stores located in city center rather than in the surbub of city. Because rental prices in city center is 2-3 times more expensive. There are such products whose price can be lowered for 5 % due to raw material. Also there are products which can be appreciated for 5 %. There are price reduction on seasonal products." he said.
The representative of Azersun Holding said that distibutors are capable of regulating the price till the certain point: "The price can be relatively expensive in stores located in the first zone of the city as rental costs are more expensive. If the currency rate changes there will be certain regulations in price for buying raw materials. Currently holding did not make decision about price rise." said Afiq Safarov.
