Azerbaijan investment summit kicks off in Baku - PHOTO

Azerbaijan Investment Summit has kicked off in Baku, APA-Economics reports.Making a keynote speech at the event, editor of The Economist Simon Wright said there are all signs of economic growth in Azerbaijan. He said that oil revenues will be stabilized in Azerbaijan in the near future. “This requires balanced economy. Property rights should be ensured in the country,” he said. Simon Wright said Azerbaijan is lags behind in the list on fight against corruption. “Fight against corruption should be strengthened. Pluralism in economy should also be ensured,” he said. A number of foreign politicians and economists plan to address the summit. Several panels have been organized at the event. Addressing the panels and answering the questions of the participants chairman of Azerbaijan Export and Investment Promotion Foundation (AZPROMO) Rufat Mammadov, Executive Director of Azerbaijan State Oil Fund Shahmar Movsumov and Minister of Education Mikayil Jabbarov spoke about the ongoing reforms in Azerbaijan, socio-economic policy and achievements. The problems in the country’s economy, their solution, future development prospects were discussed at the event.ANN.Az
