Procter&Gamble to sue Azerbaijan anti-monopoly agency

(Baku Daily) - Procter&Gamble Azerbaijan Services Ltd is going to sue the State Service for Antimonopoly Policy and Consumer Protection.

Lawyers from the company will lodge a lawsuit against the state agency in coming days, APA reported.

The State Service for Antimonopoly Policy and Consumer Protection had earlier said it found shortcomings in Procter&Gamble’s activities during monitoring of the market. 

In particular, the agency said it identified “elements of unfair and inaccurate advertising” by the company of some of its products, including Oral-B and Pro-flex toothbrushes, Duracell batteries, Ariel washing powder and Blend-a-med and Pro-expert toothpaste.

The company was fined 2.16 million manat for violating anti-monopoly laws.
