BP has resumed production of crude oil at the Chirag platform in the Caspian Sea after a month-long maintenance.
"Chirag re-started yesterday, Dec. 10, following a successful completion of the turnaround activities,” the company said in an e-mailed statement. "The scope of work under the program was completed safely.”
Chirag, which produced about 54,000 barrels of oil a day in the first nine months of the year, was closed down for planned maintenance on Nov. 10.
It is part of the Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli (ACG) block of fields in Azerbaijan’s section of the Caspian Sea.
